Josh Berkley is an attorney and owner at Berkley Oliver PLLC who helps individuals implement plans to protect their assets and their loved ones.
Josh grew up on a cattle farm in Western Kentucky and enjoyed the pleasures of small-town life and a tightly knit community in Princeton, Kentucky until he graduated from Caldwell County High School in 2004. Afterward, Josh received a Presidential Scholarship to the University of Kentucky and graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude. He went on to attend the University of Kentucky Rosenberg College of Law and received his Juris Doctorate in 2012.
Following Law School, Josh met his wife, Katie (also an attorney!), while living in Lexington. Having both come from small-towns, Josh and Katie decided to make the move to Shelby County in 2017 to be close to family before starting a family of their own.
Josh focuses his practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate, and Elder Law. From assisting young parents in making a plan to provide for their children, to helping senior clients qualify for Medicaid, Josh works with clients to create estate plans and life plans tailored to each person’s specific goals.
He also helps clients with a wide variety of important legal documents such Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Healthcare Surrogate Designations, and Living Wills.
He currently serves as President of the Leadership Shelby board of directors, Vice-President of the Dorman Center Preschool board of directors, and is a member of the board for the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, Shelby County Community Theatre, and the Shelby County Parks Foundation. He is also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville.
